Did you ever get that feeling of being on top of the world? Here’s a throwback to a special pilgramage to World Youth Day in Rio De Janiero. On this leg of our journey we spent a number of days in Manchay, Peru, assisting with a number of volunteer projects with Caritas involving childcare, building maintenance and education. On our final day we had the beautiful opportunity to contribute to a non-for-profit group who aim to add a touch of green by to the sweeping dust hills surrounding Manchay, by planting trees. The trees also have the added natural benefit of acting as an anchor to secure the land, therefore avoiding the danger of landslides. We had a great time pretending we were recreating the Qantas ad, and it was great to give something back to a community who had made us feel so welcome.
